Porcelain veneers
Thin, custom shells of hand-layered porcelain — bonded to the front of your teeth, made minutes from the chair.
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that cover the front surface of teeth to improve their shape, shade and symmetry — for chipped, stained, worn, gappy or slightly uneven teeth. Designed well, they don’t announce themselves; they simply look like the teeth you were meant to have.
There are two main materials. Composite veneers are sculpted directly by the dentist in a single visit — less expensive, though they may stain over time. Porcelain veneers are crafted individually at Ikigai Ceramics, where our ceramists layer and characterise the porcelain by hand; they last longer, resist staining and hold a more natural translucency.
Because our laboratory is in Hawthorn, shade matching for complex cases can happen in person, in natural light — and the dentist and ceramist review your case together before anything is bonded.
